Yes, I have started on that. I am on the part about the smoking journal. Seeing as my quit date is next week right now it shows negative numbers. Don't know why it's not showing in my posts... Hello Lou P Lou Welcome to the site. I feel like a new member too because it seemed to take me forever to work out how to move around and what to do. I am celebrating my 14th day smoke free today which is amazing and I have to say that having these people here to be with has helped a lot. Everyone has a different story and way of dealing with their quit so I'm sure you'll get a lot from it too. Have you filled in all the bit on the left which starts with 'You are Here'? because then your stats will show up at the bottom of your messages and we'll know all about you then!! Good luck. Day 3 went pretty well. Started out the day with a pretty bad craving but I made it through it. The kids and I took our daily walk and that is so helpful! My boyfriend and I went out to eat and to Wal-Mart tonight. He quit yesterday and needless to say we talked a bit about this site and our quit and even joked around when we were dealing with a craving. When we walked out of Wal-Mart tonight I got a huge wiff of smoke.. amazed me that didn't spur a craving, but it didn't. Then we had stopped to get gas and there it was again. Funny how I didn't notice the smoke that much before. Guess it is because it was usually me stinking everything up. I did notice that my car still stinks. It hasn't been smoked in since Tueday, but it still had a smell. I know it will air out cause we stopped smoking in the house back in September or October and after a while it smelled better. So, we bought an air freshener. Guess you could say that was our first reward for not smoking.. Now I am off to bed so I can get up for work tomorrow. Rhondababy, Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before changing your dose. Your body needs time to adjust everytime you step up or down. Switching back and forth can bring out those side effects. Also keep in mind that some quitters do experience an adjustment period of a few days when stepping down from any aid. It is temporary and it does pass. With regards to your slip and you having bought a pack, I'm concerned you're headed down a slippery slope. We strongly suggest you get rid of those cigarettes as soon as possible. Take the time to learn from your slip and keep going. What could you have done differently to keep from smoking? Smoking to make your mood swings go away is not the answer. They are quite common among quitters and they will pass. Keep close and keep us posted. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Rhodababy, You have to get rid of those cigarrettes - they are WAY too tempting with your quit! There are going to be some rough times, but having a cigarrette is not going to help you get through them - it will only add to your stress and make you even more anxious. Be strong and stay faithful with your QUIT My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 748 Amount Saved: $240.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 13 Mins: 29 Seconds: 46

Hey rhondababy, how are you doing today? Sounds like yesterday was a rough day for ya. Just wanted to see how today is treating ya. So far today is ok, but I did sleep in today. I am off work today because I have to work the weekend. Just woke up and ate and took my Chantix, but so far doing good. Yes, my boyfriend has a long week. It is gonna be rough on all of us, but I know he can do it. He had quit for about a month back in October of last year. I tried then, but couldn't even make day 1. Lou P Lou, I'm glad you're doing so well in your quit and feeling positive. Take advantage of this time with Chantix to make this quit stick forever. That's my desire for myself. This is our golden opportunity we've been reaching for, for a long time. Your boyfriend probably has a rough week to get through with the nicotine withdrawal, but if he can just ride it out, with no expectations from either one of you towards him as far as mood, etc., hopefully he'll make it. And he's got you as an example, which never hurts, if he really wants to quit. Just wanted to let you know how happy I am for you.
