Could it be lack of faith that causes a man to be so insecure that he changes his name in the hope that it will make him something better. It doesn't seem to have worked.

Be who you are and be the best you can be as who you are. Acceptance and satisfaction are the key to happiness but they have to be together and if a little augmentation or some new cloths make you feel better then do it but looking to extremes to fix you will not work. Inside you are still you. And if that you, is negative then changing the outside will not fix the inside. But fixing the inside can make you enjoy and appreciate the outside.

I agree, if it is core beliefs that are causing this lack of faith then they need to be worked on for sure. Since we know how strongly they affect our lives and thoughts.

If your goal is not sound you can rebuild your plans till the cows come home and you still will not succeed. Start small and each success will prepare you for the overall goal. If you can't be successful at the small things you won't be able to be successful at the large.

The other side of this coin is, "don't waste too much time on things you can't obtain".

It is good to aim high but know when to give in and never feel bad because you did.

But yes if it is something obtainable you will find a way to do it. Just like this program, if you want to be free you will be.

It would appear from your posts that you are very community orientated. Correct me if I am wrong!

I live in a community of 400 people spread out along a couple of major roads. We have a community hall, a general store that is smaller than most houses and a school that belongs to us not the government. The gas station and post office are in the general store. There is a sign by the tracks and the train will stop there to pick you up. You have to buy your ticket on line and print it out yourself. Very quiet and peaceful in the shadow of two mountain ranges. We are very good at doing for ourselves.

My point here is that although we are community orientated each individual comes first. If a community project interferes with our own personal projects some one else has to do it. Trying to be there for others when you can't is damaging. Here no one complains if you don't show up. Over time the community has learned to schedule things so this doesn't happen too often.

It is too easy to lose site of yourself and who you are if you are always helping others. It can take the joy out of life.

By the way I disagree with Napoleon Hill. This type of thought can lead to excessive anxiety and depression. It can also lead to the loss of friends.

I would also use need rather than have. But then I do not like being told I have to do anything.

Should, yes, have to, no.

I think this quote is negative but still good for comment.

Just my opinion and we are allowed our opinions.

This is a bit of a twist on the quote.

We have a saying in farming when the hay is in the barn and we can finally rest.

"it is all over but the crying". See if you want something bad enough you will chance it even though you don't know the outcome. There is still hope. There is still tomorrow if today was not as good as you wanted. When it goes right it is so worth it. When it doesn't it is still worth it because we tried.

It is all about attitude.
